Essays on unmasking, nervous system freedom, and building a life that actually feels like yours in the second act.
Â
If you have ever found yourself addicted to drama or in the process of detoxing from an old identity, this is a love note written for you. I hope you enjoy this journey.
In 2025, I lost my husky Alaska in one of the most traumatic ways I could have imagined.
Grief does strange things to a nervous system that was already running hot. And somewhere in the fog of that loss, I found a container for all that unprocessed pain — one that felt productive, even righteous at the time.
You probably know...
I’m writing this from my deck with my rescue goats grazing in front of me. If I’m honest, the more I disconnect from hustle culture and the need to be perpetually “on” and achieving the less I want to go back. Now I can’t close up shop and live off grid in the woods (as much as I may want to, honestly) because running a farm animal sanctuary, and well life in general, takes money. And yet, my relationship to work, stress, and the constant cortisol addiction that kept me going is adapting.

This is Part 2 of a 3-part series. Part 3 drops April 7, 2026 for paid subscribers.

You’ve heard it before.
“Your work is too dark.”
“Too intense.”
“Too heavy for most people to connect with.”
So you start editing yourself. You soften the edges.
You add more “relatable” positivity.
You dial down the raw truth that once poured out of you on to the page or canvas. And slowly, without realizing it, you strip away the very thing that made your art, your writing, YOU stand out.
Here’s what almost no one tell creatives, writers, artists, and healers: Darkness itself doesn’t repel pe...
Let me paint you a picture. Maybe it’s one you’ve seen before.
You had an idea. A good one. The kind that kept you up at night — not with anxiety, but with the specific electricity of this is it. This is the thing. People will be obsessed.
So you built it.
You named it. Scripted it. Designed the sales page. Spent three weeks on the branding because it had to feel right. Wrote the launch emails. Filmed the promo content. Posted the countdown timer like it was a Taylor Swift album drop.
You to...
