Caring for the SOMA

I have been a Holistic Nutritionist & Personal Trainer for over 15 years.  So many people stress themselves out MORE trying to understand what the perfect diet is, the perfect amount of sleep, the right thoughts to think that will manifest the PERFECT job, program, or wealth, the just right name for the program, the list goes on….

An endless, grueling, search for perfection.

The wounded maiden.

And yet, even deeper within this, within the toxic culture we see our bodies & souls as pieces, fragments that we can “master” & achieve some next level.

The online space is always in a battle about mindset vs energy.  This vs that.

And yet, the truth is found in the grey zone, as it tends to be.

The change you wish to see is found in the SOMA- the living body in its wholeness & therefore to release places that are not in full expression we must release it inside the soma…

Which includes the nervous system, mind, emotional body, energy, etc.

So many, in the wounded search for perfection or getting it right- finally being given the Gold star of having made it- are disembodied minds herding the body around.  Feeding & watering the body so that it can take the mind places.  Feeding & watering the body in a certain way to finally “get it right”.

And I understand this for many reasons, one being a past as a figure competitor.  This time of my life led to layers of dysfunctional thinking, emotions, & behaviours around food & having to get it “just right” so that I could be “perfect”. Therefore I was never actually bringing love & intention to the meals & my health but bringing wounded energetics.  

I swear to this day it wasn’t the diet itself that caused such ill health effects but the ENERGY & MEANING I brought to eating in such a way.

When we see the body, the SOMA, as a unified place for our history, longings, commitments, healing of our wounds, where we can be learners, grow….

We realize it all happens in the body.

Therefore it isn’t something we do EXTERNALLY that will make the most impact, at least not right off the bat (Affirmations, eating a certain way, exercising a certain way, etc)....

But the releasing & shifting internally that opens up space for miracles & self healing.
